This Privacy Policy explains how Maksym Andriienko (“we”, “us”, or “our”) handles information in the Psychological Diary mobile application (“the App”).
1. Information you provide in the App
The App may allow you to create diary entries, notes, mood records, reflections, and other personal content. This content can include sensitive personal information if you choose to write it.
In the current MVP version, diary content is intended to be stored locally on your device and is not sent to our own servers.
2. Voice input and microphone access
The App may request microphone access only when you use voice input. Voice input is used to convert your speech into text for diary entries or notes.
Speech recognition may be processed by the speech recognition service available on your device or operating system, such as Google speech services, depending on your Android settings and device configuration. We do not receive or store your raw audio recordings on our own servers.
You can choose not to use voice input and enter text manually instead.
3. Information stored on your device
The App may store the following information locally on your device:
- Diary entries and personal notes;
- Mood or reflection records;
- App preferences, such as language or display settings;
- Local app data needed for the App to function.
If you delete the App from your device, local app data may also be deleted, depending on your device settings and operating system behavior.
4. Accounts and cloud sync
The current MVP version does not require users to create an account with us and does not provide our own cloud synchronization service.
If account creation, cloud backup, or synchronization is added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such features are released.
5. Analytics, advertising, and third-party SDKs
The current MVP version is intended not to use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs unless they are listed in this section.
If third-party analytics, crash reporting, advertising, subscription, or cloud services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy will be updated before such features are released.
6. How we use information
We use information processed in the App to:
- Provide journaling, reflection, and app functionality;
- Save your preferences locally;
- Allow voice-to-text input when you choose to use it;
- Respond to support requests if you contact us.
7. Sharing of information
We do not sell your diary content. We do not share your diary content with advertisers or data brokers.
Information may be processed by third-party services only when necessary to provide functionality you choose to use, such as device speech recognition services, app store services, or email services when you contact support.
8. Data retention
Diary entries and app data stored locally remain on your device until you delete them in the App, clear the App’s data, or uninstall the App.
Support emails are retained only as long as reasonably necessary to respond to your request and maintain support records.
9. Data deletion
You can delete your local diary entries inside the App where deletion controls are available, or by clearing the App’s data/uninstalling the App through your device settings.

10. Security
We aim to use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect user information. However, no method of storage or transmission is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device, screen lock, and backups secure.
11. Children
The App is not intended for children under 13. If you are under the age required to use digital services in your country, you should use the App only with permission from a parent or legal guardian.
12. International users
Your use of the App may be subject to the laws of your country or region. If you contact us by email, your message may be processed by email service providers located in other countries.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, provide notice in the App or on this page.
